Norfolk, VA – Virginia Beach City FC Academy advance two teams to the 2022 USYS National Championship Series, Eastern Regional Championships.
The 2022 US Youth Soccer Eastern Regional Championships take place June 24- June 30 in Charleston and Baboursville, West Virginia. The event will feature boys and girls teams in the U12 to U19 age groups who will compete for a regional championship. The U13 to U19 Regional Champions will advance to the 2022 US Youth Soccer National Championships to be hosted at ESPN Wide World of Sports, July 19-24.
The Virginia Beach City FC Academy 2007Bs are coming off a 7-2 Victory over Virginia Rush in the VYSA State Finals. The Virginia Beach City FC Academy 2004Gs earned a 3-1 Victory over Beach FC in the VYSA State Finals. Both teams look to carry this momentum into the regional playoffs.
“We are carrying 17 into the weekend, the boys are healthy, they are fit, and they have been locked in during training as we near the trip,” stated Brandon Ricker, Technical Director and 2007B Head Coach. “We have an excellent group of hard working individuals. It will be another great opportunity for the boys to develop, learn and bond. I know the the boys are ready to compete and I am ready to compete right along side them.”
The 2007Bs Academy have a record of 27 wins and 3 losses over their last 30 matches and are slated to play FC Alliance WV (West Virginia), SAC Premier (Maryland) and Century V Soccer (Pennsylvania).
The 2004Gs Academy are lead by Head Coach, Sam Barnett.
