Norfolk, VA (Monday, July 24, 2023) – The Major League Development Association (MLDA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Inty Andre as a Director of Coaching (DoC). Inty Andre’s extensive experience and dedication to soccer leadership make him an invaluable addition to the MLDA team, and he will play a vital role in the development and growth of player development and academy programming.
Inty Andre will directly oversee the West Virginia Soccer Academy and Frederick County Soccer Club within the MLDA to include MLS NEXT, USYS National League, Academy and Development Academy programing.
“We’re very pleased to have someone with Inty’s outlook on the game. Inty, is player centric, dedicated to growth and has an outstanding work ethic. His impact in the MLDA, and more specifically among the coaches and players in West Virginia Soccer and Frederick County Soccer Club, will be immediately felt.” Technical Director Brandon Ricker said in an interview.
Since 2011, Inty has embarked on a remarkable coaching career, leaving his mark on renowned organizations such as DC United, New York Red Bulls training program(RDS), Arlington Soccer, Herndon Youth Soccer, Chantilly Youth Soccer and Catholic University Women’s Soccer. His dedication to refining his coaching skills has led him to pursue multiple internships, including overseas opportunities in the Netherlands and Italy. Inty Andre also currently serves as an assistant coach for DC United U23s during the summer.
It is essential to shed light on Inty’s qualifications that make him stand out in this role. Notably, Inty has recently achieved the prestigious USSF B License, showcasing his dedication to honing his coaching expertise. However, his ambition doesn’t end there, as he is currently immersed in the process of obtaining his UEFA A License, a remarkable testament to his commitment to staying at the cutting edge of soccer coaching techniques and education. Inty Andre earned a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Marymount University in 2019.
Central to Inty’s coaching philosophy is a strong emphasis on developing the person before the athlete. He envisions soccer as a means to help players become the best version of themselves, equipped with the necessary tools and knowledge to make informed decisions, compete at the highest levels, and effectively solve problems. Through hard work and dedication, Inty aims to cultivate not only exceptional players but also future leaders on and off the pitch.
In regard to his goals as Director of Coaching, Inty expressed his commitment to fostering a culture of learning and knowledge sharing among coaches and everyone involved in the program. He explained that he “aims to improve the quality of players within the organization, not only as footballers but also as individuals. Increasing the level of quality and competitiveness within the organization is a key objective, with the ultimate goal of pushing players towards professional pathways.”
When asked about plans to engage fans, supporters, and the community, Inty emphasized the importance of “creating a distinct football identity and style of play that will make them feel represented and proud.” This strategic move will also enable MLDA teams to compete and challenge top clubs within the region, marking a crucial first step in their journey.
